After nearly buying a Spec Miata a few weeks ago, and trying to figure out what tow vehicle I’d replace my daily driver (FR-S) with, I’ve figured out a dream garage setup:

Ford Flex w/ tow package serving as DD/tow vehicle

and

Spec Miata, Spec86, or other race car.

My perfect two-car garage will be almost perfect when I add a 997 alongside my ‘15 GSW TDI.

(almost because the TDI is FWD only....but that’s okay because 45mpg on road trips)

Comfy car for the commute and a raw car for the weekend.

Replace the F-Type with a Crossfire and you have my hopefully-soon garage.

I suspect the daily would be faster than the weekender. I’m not usually one for actual fastness, but something about it doesn’t sit right with me. Your daily shouldn’t really eclipse your weekender in any of the fun metrics. Only in other ways.
